1. Who we are
Peruvian Soul (“we”, “us”) is a restaurant in downtown Frederick, Maryland. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and when you contact or book with us.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Reservation requests: name, email address, phone number (optional), date, time, party size, and any notes you choose to share, such as an occasion or food allergies.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or phone.
Allergy or dietary notes may be sensitive. Share only what our kitchen needs to serve you safely; we use it only for your visit.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our web host records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site secure and running.
- Browser storage: we store your cookie choice, and a short-lived counter used to block automated spam, in your browser's local storage.
- Optional services: only if you allow them (see Cookies).
3. How we use it
- To manage and confirm reservations and contact you about your booking.
- To send our newsletter, if you signed up. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To answer your questions and improve our service.
- To protect the site and our guests from fraud, spam and abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the restaurant and this site, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

- Google, only if you choose to load the embedded map.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our guests, staff or business.
5. Cookies & similar technology
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Non-essential services stay off until you allow them. You can change your mind at any time with .

Our fonts, scripts and images are hosted on our own server. Until you make a choice in the banner, this site loads nothing from other companies: no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party scripts. The Google map loads only if you allow Maps or press “Load map”.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep reservation details for up to [24 months] to manage bookings and remember guest preferences, newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe, and server logs for up to [90 days]. Then we delete or anonymize them.
7. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, including under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, you may have the right to:
- Find out what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time.
- Appeal if we decline your request.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 45 days and will not treat you differently for using your rights.
8. Security
This site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. We limit access to personal information to staff who need it and use reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send payment card details by email.
9. Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information online.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Effective” date above and, for significant changes, post a notice on the site.
